Do you have a sense of direction?

"The first step toward change is awareness.

The second step is acceptance."

~Nathaniel Branden

Do you have a sense of direction?

To grow, you must know yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, your interests and opportunities. Gauge not only where you have been but also where you are today.

To reach your fullest potential and be fulfilled, you must assess where you are and chart a course for where you want to go.

Reflect on these tips to help you accelerate towards your growth goals:

Awareness: If you want to change direction, either for yourself or your organization, take the time to look at your current activities. Spend some time really thinking about where you are headed. If it is not the direction that you want to go in, then it is time to become intentional about your next steps. Write out tangible steps that will take you towards a new direction or goal. And, then it is this next phase that will get you moving.

Action: The people and organizations that move forward are the ones who look for the circumstances they want and if they can't find them, they make them. That means taking initiative. It means doing something specific every day that will take you another step closer to your goal.

Accountability: One of the ways to be sure that you follow through with your action plan and meet your goals, is to bring in accountability. One way to do this is to make your goals public. When you share your intentions, it can put pressure on you to keep working. Simply writing down goals is also a form of accountability. Then track every action that pertains to an area where you want to see improvement.

Find something that you want to change and take action today.
